The Commission cannot intervene in financial disputes. If an institution refuses to release a transcript because of an outstanding financial obligation, the Commission cannot intervene on the student's behalf.

The Commission cannot interpose itself in disputes between individuals and affiliated institutions in any matters involving admission, grades, granting or transferability of credits, application of academic policies, fees or other financial matters, contractual rights and obligations, personnel decisions (including tenure), or similar matters.  The Commission cannot intervene in collective bargaining disputes. Individual issues should be resolved through the institution's published grievance procedures. The Commission cannot seek any type of compensation, damages, readmission, or any other redress on an individual's or group's behalf.
