What Will Fit In Your Garden?


The "Plotting Tool" is ONLY used to test out potential crop rotations one bed at a time! It does not log your information. The tool helps determine how many plants will fit in an area and when they can be planted. Use this tool to help fill out your three garden maps - spring, summer, and fall. When you have confirmed what you will plant in each bed,  you must insert the information into the "Planting Calculator" below to then receive your completed planting plan via email. 

Plotting Tool Instructions:

  1. Select a spring vegetable and insert the bed/row dimensions.  

  2. Select an estimated start/planting date.

  3. The tool uses the calculated end date to determine the next crops that can be planted in that same space for summer and fall.

  4. Repeat for Summer and Fall vegetables. The next crop's start date needs to come after the previous crop's end date. It is okay to leave an area empty to open up planting options for the next season.

Once you are satisfied with your rotations, fill in your spring, summer and fall maps. Then, insert the information on your maps into the Planting Plan Calculator below. 

Planting Plan Calculator

Starting with the Spring section, select the first vegetable you will plant and fill in the required information. Add another vegetable until the Spring section is complete. Repeat this process for the Summer and Fall sections. 
  • Tip for Total Area/Row ft: To calculate the total area for a raised bed, multiply bed length x bed width. For a row, insert the total length of row (in feet).

*Please note: If you select garlic for Fall, it does not matter which "Start Date" you choose. The "Start Date" will automatically convert to 11/15 on your completed planting plan document that will be emailed to you.
