The legal basis for processing the data you provide as part of your volunteer application is legitimate interest as we require this data to determine your suitability to volunteer with us. By sending us this data you are consenting for us to process the data for the following purposes: to enable Coram Beanstalk to create an electronic and paper record of your application; to enable the application to be processed to determine your suitability to volunteer; to enable the organisation to compile statistics, or to assist other organisations to do so, provided that no statistical information that would identify you as an individual will be published.
We respect your privacy and promise to keep your data safe and secure. We will not disclose, or share personal information supplied by you with any third party organisations, without your consent.
Please note
All volunteers will be required to provide suitable contact details for us to provide two references.
If you are applying to volunteer in a role which is classed as regulated activity, according to guidance from the Disclosure and Barring Service, you will be required to undertake a DBS Check via route 1 or 2 during our recruitment process and we will share data with UCheck to carry this out.
We will retain your information for one year if you are unsuccessful in your application. If you are successful it will become part of your volunteer file and be kept for the duration of your time volunteering with Coram Beanstalk, plus six years (as is best practice).
