At YSF, we are deeply committed to your success in the collegiate soccer recruitment process. Our primary goal is to provide tools and resources to empower you to successfully navigate this hectic process. If selected to participate in the YSF mentorship program, you will be eligible for the following benefits: One-on-one and group guidance concerning college planning for athletic recruitment.
Guidance and support with making connections with college coaches.
SAT or ACT preparation course with Princeton Review.
Opportunities to develop self-monitoring skills related to personal athletic progress.
Select students may have the opportunity to participate in an Academic All-Star team competing at Surf Cup.
Select students who comply with all program requirements are eligible to apply for a YSF ID Camp Grant to partially cover necessary expenses for a well-chosen ID camp.
Intensive individualized support in the college and financial aid application process.
All of these benefits are available to you and your family at no cost. However, we have set forth the following MANDATORY terms to maintain your standing in the program to ensure you remain on track with the academic and athletic aspects of the college recruitment process.
Every student-athlete is expected to:
❑ Be an active participant throughout the duration of your involvement in the program by:
❑ Send your advisor:
❑ Maintain a 3.2 or higher GPA throughout high school;
❑ Be committed to scoring above average on the SAT/ACT by using Khan Academy and other test prep;
❑ Be on track to meet the NCAA eligibility requirements;
❑ Play and compete at a high level with a club soccer team or an academy;
❑ Have realistic goals and expectations as to the level of college soccer at which you can play and compete;
❑ Maintain a high level of character, citizenship and work ethic throughout participation in the Program;
❑ Be a "10" on a scale of 1-10, when measuring desire and commitment to play and compete at the college level.
Be
Student progress will be reviewed on an annual basis to determine continued participation. Not complying with program expectations will result in termination from the program. It is critical to maintain open communication with YSF advisors to ensure we can provide the best support possible.
