Guidelines for Student Tuesdays at the Monastery

We are glad to welcome you to the Monastery, our home.  As this is not strictly a public place, guidelines have been adjusted to ensure reasonable safety for invited, vaccinated guests. We want to ensure that the Monastery, and especially these occasions of in person worship, are safe, and so we ask you to follow these guidelines:

  1. The chapel doors will open for Eucharist at 5:15pm.
  2. If you are unwell, have had a positive COVID-19 test within the past 10 days, have not been able to pre-register, or are uncomfortable being indoors in a group, we invite you to join us online. Go to to join the livestreamed services
  3. Doors and windows will remain open regardless of the weather or street noise.
  4. Following Diocesan Guidelines and the most recent CDC recommendation, masks are OPTIONAL inside the chapel.
  5. As the Eucharist will be livestreamed, please do not sit in the choir unless you are willing to be on camera.
  6. At the Exchange of the Peace, you are welcome to greet one another physically.  Please respect the boundaries of those who prefer a smile, wave, or bow.
  7. Communion is offered in both kinds (bread and wine).  If you choose to receive the wine, please sip only.  Intinction (dipping the bread into the wine) is NOT permitted according to diocesan guidelines.  Anglican theology has always taught that the full presence of Christ is present in either element.
  8. Masks are also optional when not eating during Supper and in the Brothers' Common Room.
