  • This opportunity is open to applicants worldwide.
  • Applicants will be notified of their status within the month after applying.
  • Little Free Library has limited capacity and may not be able to fulfill all requests.

Before applying...
Review the following.  Applicants who do not meet these requirements will not be eligible.
  1. The applicant must be 18 years or older.
  2. The applicant must have permission to apply on behalf of an organization.
  3. Have local person(s) responsible for and with regular access to the libraries.
  4. Have all libraries installed or ready to install before applying.
  5. Have confirmed library location(s) with all permissions/permits approved.
  6. One application per household or organization per six months.

Charter signs retail for $39.95 each.

If approved, we will send you a payment link or invoice based on this amount.

Terms for accepting a free or reduced-cost charter sign grant:
  1. I will install all libraries and attach charter signs.
  2. I will add the library’s location and photo to the Little Free Library world map.
  3. I will submit a photo and story about the impact of the library after installation.
  4. I will respond to all follow-up communications from Little Free Library.
  5. I will credit the Little Free Library and tag the Little Free Library on social media.


I give permission to Little Free Library to use this application at their discretion. My contact information will never be shared with outside parties without my permission. I agree to abide by Little Free Library's Trademark Policy if awarded.
