We recognise that AI tools can be useful when applying, e.g. to shorten an initial draft answer. We are open to applicants utilising them in their volunteer application. However, we would caution applicants not to rely too much on them. We currently have more opportunities to tutor in-person than online. If you are located in one of our hubs, please consider changing your preference to 'face to face tutoring' or 'interested in both' to increase your chances of finding a suitable space.

As part of our safeguarding policies we need to collect two references for each volunteer. Please share the contact details of two individuals who can act as your reference. These should be professional contacts or trusted members of your community (for example a university lecturer or teacher, coach or activity leader).

We will only request a reference from them after you have attended training with us. This is normally 1-2 weeks after you submit your application, so there will be time for you to notify them before we reach out.
