Fellows Program

The NAI Fellows Program honors distinguished academics who demonstrate exceptional innovation through inventions that significantly enhance quality of life and societal welfare. Inducted annually at the NAI Conference, Fellows’ names are permanently displayed at the USPTO headquarters and recorded in the Congressional Record.

Senior Member Program

The Senior Member Program recognizes early-career inventors from NAI Member Institutions who have achieved notable success in patents and commercialization, contributing impactful technologies to society. Each year, new Senior Members are honored at the Annual Conference and receive certificates and challenge coins from USPTO officials.

GAIN Mentoring Program

GAIN (Global Academic Inventors Network) facilitates mentoring and peer-networking by connecting experienced inventors with students, allowing members to both Give and Get Advice, enhancing collaboration within the invention community.

Student Showcase

The Student Showcase highlights innovative projects from K-12 and university inventors nationwide, providing them with valuable feedback from NAI Members. The Genspiration Prize was introduced to recognize outstanding young inventors, offering cash awards and potential IP support.

Technology & Innovation Journal

The Technology & Innovation Journal serves as a platform for publishing articles across applied sciences, offering ongoing opportunities for authors. It features timely topics like AI and Prosthetics, with the USPTO contributing an invention-related piece in each issue.

IP Curriculum

Developed with the Michelson Institute of Intellectual Property, the IP Curriculum is a free, comprehensive online course designed to equip engineers and scientists with essential intellectual property knowledge. It includes 12 video modules, 38 lessons, and a final exam, leading to an Innovation Development Certificate.

From Campus to Commerce

This video series, created in partnership with the USPTO, showcases innovations emerging from academic institutions, including groundbreaking technologies. The series aims to bridge the gap between research and commercial application.

NAI Newsletter

The monthly NAI Newsletter keeps the innovation ecosystem informed with updates, trends, and announcements from member institutes, Fellows, and Senior Members, ensuring stakeholders stay connected with the latest developments in the field.

Annual Conference

The NAI Annual Conference gathers leading innovators from various sectors to share best practices and address societal challenges. The event features panels, keynote speakers, and the induction of new Senior Members and Fellows, along with networking opportunities and the Genspiration Student Showcase.

Invention Insider

Invention Insider is a dynamic series celebrating the personal journeys of inventors, particularly those from underrepresented communities. It includes written and video content, widely shared through NAI’s media channels and housed on the NAI website.

ScholarShare

ScholarShare is a virtual webinar series designed to foster interdisciplinary discussions and connect the global innovation ecosystem, promoting collaboration and knowledge-sharing among diverse stakeholders.
